Customer Satisfaction

Heavy copper multilayer boards

:IMG_1165.jpg

We have several customers who require heavy copper traces on multilayer PCBs.  Their copper thickness requirements range from 4 up to 10oz to handle voltages of 1,000 volts or more.  These boards are generally used for power supplies in end use applications ranging from radar to x-ray equipment to rail guns.  Breakdown and flash-over are big concerns.

Rapid Circuits is able to produce PCBs with thick copper on intermediate layers and maintain intimate conformity of the laminates to the traces and preceding layers without air gaps that can cause catastrophic breakdown.

Rapid has many very long term relationships with customers requiring multi-layer high copper PCBs as their go-to resource for consistent, dependable quality..

Meeting unusual requirements in a time crunch

One of our customers recently required a large size countersink that was too large to be accommodated in typical PCB drilling equipment.   We were able to do a quick turn on their boards and make the necessary modifications to use the countersink bit on our equipment saving the customer the time, yield risk and high cost of drilling 23 holes on each board by hand.

Helping our customer get qualified.

An emerging company required certification to ULA (United Launch Associates) standards for space-flight qualified, multi-layer controlled impedance PCBs.  We shared our knowledge and expertise with them in support of having both Rapid Circuits and our customer receive certification to ULA_s stringent criteria.

Helping our customer with critical document preparation.

While meeting the challenge of a quick turnaround, we used our knowledge of the IPC standards to assist our customer in preparing the documentation package that they needed to present to their customer; a major aircraft producer.  The knowledge we imparted was essential to their achieving qualification by their customer.

Educating the educators

We assisted the electrical engineering research department of a major university where the customer was unfamiliar with PCB design and had challenging criteria to meet.  We helped them develop their own set of in-house design rules for PCB manufacturability.

Dependability for quick response to business critical time constraints.

We regularly supply various high quality polyimide boards on a 24 hour turn-around basis for use in the demanding environment of down-hole oil exploration applications.  These applications require dependable response due to the expense of equipment downtime in the field.

Coming to the rescue

Typical of our ability to help opur customers in time of need, a customer recently came to us at 6:00 PM on a Monday with the urgent need for newly designed multilayer PCBs to meet a shipment to their customer that was due in a matter of a few days.  He had all the boards in his hands by noon on Wednesday and was able to meet his commitment.
